Abu Saif and Saja report receipt of the $2,000 that we sent this past week, and the $1,000 that we sent earlier. They had to await the availability of currency, which continues in short supply. See note below on Israeli actions to cut off Palestinian banks from the world financial system.

Abu Saif will distribute $1,000 and will pass $1,000 to Hamad’s contact in Gaza for distribution to other needy individuals, some of them in the north, where food is scarce.

Abu Saif says that food is available for purchase at inflated rates in the middle of the Strip, where he is, but international organizations report spreading famine in the north and the south.

We are trying to reach Haitham, who reported that the $2,000 that we sent to him arrived in his account, but that currency was not available.

FOOD AID

International media and international NGOs report continued Israeli blockage of humanitarian aid by the IDF and other officials. At the same time, Israeli civilians acting under the protection of the IDF and police are destroying food shipments and the tractor trailers carrying the food, at the crossings into Gaza, along transport routes through the West Bank (from Jordan), and within Israel. The U.S. military pier continues to pass a dribble of aid to the shore, but is suffering all the problems anticipated by veterans of the region, including rough seas that break loose the pier, anchors and support vessels. The eastern end of the Mediterranean can be savagely rough.

Rafah under attack

Haitham and Nasser have been sending video of the attacks on the designated safe area in Rafah. Some, such as the ones with a man holding up a beheaded baby, and another with a terribly burned toddler, are too grim for me to publish.

Our friend Nasser, in Cairo and running out of money, asks a very worthwhile, basic question: “What is the death tool (sic) accepted by Israel and USA to stop this genocide , 150000 is enough ?!”
