GAZA RELIEF: How to Donate
With the continuing Israeli blockage of tens of thousands of tons of humanitarian assistance from entering the Gaza Strip, our Gaza Relief effort puts small amounts of money into the hands of longtime friends and other needy individuals and families in the Gaza Strip. That money allows them to buy on the local market some of the scraps of food and most critically needed medicines for them and their children to survive.
We rely on several trusted, decades-long friends who, improbably and despite the destruction, are still able to receive funds through their bank accounts. They then distribute the funds to those whom they determine are most in need. We rely on their good judgement and their willingness to do good for others despite their own challenges.
We receive irregular accounts of distributions, as well as reports from the ground, but, again, we rely entirely on their good judgement.
Every dollar, except for modest bank transfer fees, goes to needy families in Gaza.
We have three ways for you to donate, and no amount is too small.
Send a check made out to Norman Olsen, 402 Milbridge Road, Cherryfield, Maine, 04622.
Go to PayPal, choose the button that says “send,” and type in norm@olsenglobal.com
For donors desiring a tax-deductible option, we collaborate with the U.S.-based ForPeace.US, the principals of which we have known for more than 20 years, and who work in Cambodia and Ukraine. While ForPEACE can receive on-line donations, those transactions carry a service fee, so we ask that you send checks, if possible, and clearly annotated “For Gaza Relief.” That address for checks is:
